Privacy Policy

The short version: your quiz answers never leave your device, there are no accounts, and the site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand overall traffic. That’s the whole story. The longer version below exists because privacy policies should be readable by the people they’re about.

Your quiz data stays with you

Every quiz on this site runs entirely in your browser. When you answer a question, the checking happens on your device; the answer is not transmitted to us or anyone else. Scores, streaks, medals, and your practice-your-misses piles are saved in your browser’s local storage, which means:

  • We can’t see them. Nobody can, except you, on that device.
  • They don’t follow you between devices or browsers, because there’s no account syncing them.
  • Clearing your browser data erases them, and there’s no recovery, because there’s no copy anywhere.

The daily challenge works the same way: your guesses and streak live locally, and the shareable emoji grid is generated on your device and only goes where you paste it.

No accounts, no profiles

The site has no sign-up, no login, and no way to submit personal information even if you wanted to. We don’t collect names, emails, or profiles. If you email contact@geographyquizgame.com, we see what you sent, use it to reply, and don’t add it to any marketing list, because there isn’t one.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to see aggregate patterns: which pages get visited, roughly where traffic comes from, and what devices people use. This helps answer questions like “do people actually play the Oceania quiz” (please do). GA4 involves cookies and collects data as described in Google’s own privacy documentation; what we look at is aggregate statistics, not individuals. If you block analytics with a browser extension or your browser’s built-in protections, the site works exactly the same, and we genuinely won’t mind.

Advertising

The site is ad-supported. Ad providers may use cookies subject to their own policies, and we keep ads out of the way of actually playing. None of your quiz performance is shared with anyone, including advertisers; your embarrassing first attempt at the Africa capitals quiz is between you and your local storage.

Changes

If this policy changes in any meaningful way, this page changes with it, with the date below updated. Questions about any of it: contact@geographyquizgame.com.

Frequently asked questions

Do you store my quiz scores on your servers?

No. Scores, streaks, and progress exist only in your browser’s local storage on your device. We have no database of players and no way to look up anyone’s results. Uninstalling your browser or clearing site data removes them permanently.

Does the site use cookies?

The quizzes themselves don’t need cookies; they use local storage for your progress. Google Analytics and ad providers set cookies per their own policies. Blocking third-party cookies or running an ad blocker leaves every quiz fully functional.

Is the site safe for kids to use?

There’s nothing to sign up for, nothing to submit, and no messaging or social features, so there’s no mechanism for a child to hand over personal data to us. Parents should note the site shows ads and uses standard analytics, as described above.

Can I ask you to delete my data?

There’s nothing on our side to delete: your quiz data is on your device, under your control, deletable by clearing your browser’s site data. For analytics, Google provides its own opt-out tools, and browser-level blocking works against everything at once.
